In 1996, after nearly 15 years working with contractors in his exam prep school, License Information Services, Rick Pires came to Theron Skyles with a plan to fill a void in the insurance market for contractors. Mr. Skyles ran California's largest producer contractors license bonds, Construction Services Insurance Agency, but did not offer other types of insurance contractors need, such as general liability insurance, worker's compensation insurance and commercial auto insurance. A few months later, Skyles Insurance Agency was born.
