  • Skyles Insurance Agency will make sure you understand the differences between the many kinds of policies that exist

C

ommercial General Liability (CGL) was developed to provide protection to a business for the expenses of injury and property damage to others. This product is often required before an artisan/contractor can bid for a particular job.

Why carry CGL coverage?

We live in a very litigious society, particularly California. Getting involved in a court case with a client is generally a matter of when, not if. Whether a person is guilty or not, the cost of defense can be enormous, often significantly higher than the property or injury damages. It would be reckless to not insure against such costs. As of October 1, 2001 all California Contractors are legally required to disclose to homeowners, in writing, whether or not they carry General Liability Insurance. If the contractor does carry General Liability Coverage he is then required to provide the name and phone number of his insurance company to the homeowner.

Why obtain CGL coverage from Skyles Insurance Agency (SIA)?

There can be huge differences between different insurance policies and insurance companies. At SIA, our agents are CISC or CRIS certified as specialists in construction insurance. We will do all that we can to put you in the policy that fits your needs. We will ensure that you are given the facts to make an informed decision regarding your choice of the coverage and company that you are placed with.
